JERRY SMITH Obituary

Jerry Lynn Smith, 62, of Smithsburg, MD passed away Monday April 22, 2024 at his home.

 

Born on June 7, 1961 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of JoAnn (Huntzberry) Lawyer and the late James Merlin Smith, Sr.

 

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother in law, Duane Worden.

 

Jerry graduated from Smithsburg High School, class of 1980.

 

After graduating high school, Jerry worked in construction for several years. He then was employed by Review and Herald Publishing as a Pressman for 31 years. Most recently, Jerry has been working as a truck driver for AC&T.

 

Jerry was a lifetime member of Willow Brook Seventh Day Adventist Church, Boonsboro. There he taught kindergarten and was loved by all of his students.

 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Elaine Marie (Worden) Smith; Brothers, James Merlin Smith, Jr. (Rhonda) and Robert Eugene Smith (Suzanne); Sister in law, Renee Mackin (William); Brother in law, Brian Worden (Melinda); and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 12 PM at Willow Brook Seventh Day Adventist Church, 8916 Mapleville Rd, Boonsboro, MD 21713 with Pastors Vladimir Grinchenko and Lou Alfalah officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

 

Family will receive friends two hours prior at the church.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Children's Ministries of Willow Brook Seventh Day Adventist Church, 8916 Mapleville Rd, Boonsboro, MD 21713.
